Disintegration es el octavo álbum de estudio de la banda de rock inglesa The Cure, lanzado originalmente el 2 de mayo de 1989. El disco marca un regreso al estilo gótico introspectivo y sombrío que la banda había establecido a principios de la década de 1980. A medida que se acercaba a la edad de 30 años, el cantante y guitarrista Robert Smith sintió una mayor presión para construir sobre los éxitos pop del grupo con un trabajo más sostenible. The Cure comenzó la desintegración en Hookend Recording Studios en Checkendon, Oxfordshire, con el coproductor David M. Allen desde finales de 1988 hasta principios de 1989. El álbum apareció en la revista Rolling Stone "500 Biggest Albums of All Time" e incluye varios sencillos de éxito, incluyendo "Lovesong".
